Sitzt du auch manchmal vor dem weißen Blatt Papier und hast einfach keine Ahnung was du zeichnen sollst oder zerbrichst dir den Kopf darüber, was eine gute Geschichte ausmacht?
In diesem Turboworkshop könnt ihr sehen, dass aus wirklich allem eine Comic-Erzählung entwickelt werden kann und dass sich die Dinge, die wir im Alltag oft als “langweilig” abstempeln, sich doch meist als das Spannendere entpuppen.
Für den Workshop sind keine Vorkenntnisse nötig, offen für alle ab 9 Jahren. Material ist vor Ort, gerne können aber auch Lieblingsstifte mitgebracht werden. Gerne mit Anmeldung an mail(at)artzi.de oder spontan ins Kösk kommen.
Do you sometimes sit in front of a white sheet of paper and just have no idea what to draw or rack your brain about what makes a good story?
In this turbo workshop you can see that a comic narrative can be developed from really anything and that the things that we often label as "boring" in everyday life usually turn out to be the more exciting ones.
No prior experience is necessary for this workshop, open to ages 9 and up. Material is on site, but you are welcome to bring your favorite pencils. Please register at mail(at)artzi.de or come spontaneously to Kösk.

Anita, Rex und Sandra stolpern durch die moderne Arbeitswelt und landen dabei alle in Sitzungen mit derselben unnahbaren Therapeutin. Statt des schillernden Lifestyles, den die trendige Start-ups und die hippe Kunstszene versprechen, wurden sie alle von der bitteren Realität des Arbeitslebens eingeholt; eines voller Frustration, sexueller Missgeschicke, Langeweile und Geldproblemen. Dabei findet jede/r ihre eigene höchst fragwürdige Art, mit den Problemen umzugehen, was sie dann ihrer Therapeutin offenlegen, in der Hoffnung, dass sie dem Ganzen einen Sinn geben kann. Ob dieser Prozess Arbeit und Leben der Protagonisten wieder ins Gleichgewicht bringen kann, bleibt abzuwarten...
Anita, Sandra, and Dex have ambitions. Anita wants to move from making utility ceramics to fine art sculpture but her pent up dissatisfaction results in an outburst that puts her studio mate’s work at risk. Sandra juggles her practical administrative day job at a startup with her wellness influencer channel, finding both in jeopardy when a messy affair with her coworker comes to light. In another corner of the same startup, Dex’s innovative ideas are rejected, leading him to spend his days hacking and working as a bike courier. All three are disillusioned with their daily grinds. As the pressure for self-improvement builds they all end up looking to the same therapist for answers.

Down Memory Lane
Die Welt hat sich seit dem Jahr 2021 stark verändert: Engel, Außerirdische und Menschen streifen über die Erde. Unruhen liegen in der Luft, als eine gefährliche Organisation an die Macht kommt und beginnt, einen Teil der Bevölkerung ins Visier zu nehmen. Wir folgen Thandar, der Tochter von Dämonen, deren Erfahrung von Leben und Tod eine Reflexion über Familie, Liebe, Gemeinschaft und Rechtschaffenheit ist.
Die Lesung wird auf englisch stattfinden.
The world has firmly shifted since the year 2021 Angels, aliens and Humans roam the Earth. Troubles are rumbling in the air when a dangerous organisation rises to power and starts targeting a part of the population. We follow Thandar, daughter of Demons, and whose experience of life and death is a reflexion on family, love, community and rightousness.

In «Hort» (Edition Moderne, 2022) geht es um die ungewöhnlichen Freundinnen Petra, Ulla und Denise, alle Ende Dreissig, die zusammen leben und sich aus verschiedenen Gründen gegen Mutterschaft entschieden haben. Sie treffen auf die Geschwisterkinder Ilse, Jörg und Dieter, die von ihren Eltern alleine gelassen wurden und die sofort Gefallen an den Freundinnen finden.
Fragen zu Körper- und Rollenbildern werden aufgeworfen, verschieden starke Wünsche nach Fürsorglichkeit, Selbstbestimmung und Elternschaft werden formuliert.
"Hort"(Edition Moderne, 2022) is about the unusual friends Petra, Ulla and Denise, all in their late thirties, who live together and have decided against motherhood for various reasons. They meet siblings Ilse, Jörg and Dieter, who have been left alone by their parents and who immediately take a liking to the friends.
Questions about body and role images are raised, different desires for caring, self-determination and parenthood are formulated.

Failing together is better than failing alone. Die Comic Gewerkschaft hat Stories von gescheiterten Projekten zusammengetragen. Im Workshop schauen wir uns davon einige an und laden Teilnehmerinnen ein, auch von ihren eigenen Projekten zu berichten, die schiefgelaufen sind.
Die Comic Gewerkschaft hat ein Online-Forum gebaut und lädt dazu ein, es für gegenseitige Unterstützung unter Zeichnerinnen zu nutzen. Dieses Forum stellen wir im Workshop auch vor.
Du arbeitest mit Comic im weitesten Sinne und hast wir wir das Bedrüfnis nach Vernetzung und Austausch? Dann bist du beim Workshop genau richtig.

Failing together is better than failing alone. The Comic Union has collected stories of failed projects. In the workshop we will look at some of them and invite participants to share their own projects that went wrong.
The Comic Union has built an online forum and invites you to use it for mutual support among artists. We will also introduce this forum in the workshop.
Do you work with comics in the broadest sense and do we have the need for networking and exchange? Then this is the right workshop for you.

Der Workshop basiert auf einer Art des Geschichtenerzählens, die sich aus vielen kurzen Momenten zusammensetzt und so eine Stimmung, statt einer linearen Erzählung erzeugt.
Wie beim fragmentierten Erzählen werden wir in dieser Stunde ein paar lustige Zeichenübungen machen, um dann einzeln Bilder zu schaffen, aber auf kollaborative Weise, indem wir das Schreiben und Zeichnen miteinander vermischen, um ein unerwartetes Ergebnis zu erzielen.
Wir werden uns mit dem Thema des Herumlungerns, des Übertretens, des Verbotenen, des Reisens und Herumwanderns ohne ein bestimmtes Ziel vor Augen beschäftigen und persönliche Erfahrungen und Anekdoten erzählen, um schließlich eine gemeinsame Geschichte zu schaffen.

Marco Quadri ist Illustrator und Comiczeichner aus Bologna, Italien.
Nach einem Bachelor in traditionellen Drucktechniken und einem Master in Illustration an der ISIA Urbino (IT) begann er als freiberuflicher Illustrator zu arbeiten und Comics zu zeichnen. Einige seiner Comics wurden in Anthologien wie Kuš (LT), Baobab (CZ) und Sigaretten (IT) veröffentlicht. Außerdem veröffentlicht er in Magazinen, wie Le Monde (DE), The New Yorker (US), Esquire (IT), Wobby (NL) und Kiblind Mag (FR).
Im Jahr 2020 war er Mitbegründer des Riso-Studios und des Verlagskollektivs Enter Press, das sich auf Druck und Vertrieb von unabhängigen und Underground-Comics konzentriert und ebenfalls auf der Messe vertreten ist.
The workshop takes idea from a way of storytelling that I often use, which is one composed of many short moments that make up a mood rather than a linear narrative, where multiple characters slowly outline the story.
So, like in the fragmented storytelling, in this hour we will do a couple fun drawing exercises to warm up and we will then create one image each but in a collaborative way, mixing up the writing and drawing with each other, to have a result that is unexpected.
We will work around the theme of loitering, trespassing, doing what you are not supposed to do, traveling and wandering around without a precise goal in mind, recounting personal experiences and anecdotes finally creating a collective story.

Marco Quadri is an illustrator and comic book artist from Bologna, Italy.
After studying a BA in Fine Art in Traditional Printing Techniques and MA in Illustration at ISIA Urbino (IT), he started working as a freelance illustrator and making comics. Some of his comics have been published in anthologies such as Kuš (LT), Baobab (CZ) and Sigaretten (IT). He has collaborated with many magazines such as Le Monde (DE), The New Yorker (US), Esquire (IT), Wobby (NL), Kiblind Mag (FR).
In 2020 he co-founded the riso studio and publishing collective Enter Press, which focuses on printing with independent and underground comic book artists and is also present at the fair.

resa arangieren mittels Drum-Maschine, Arpeggios, Orgeln, geschichteten Stimmen und verschiedenen Loops schönen, weirden elektronischen Pop.
Giovanni Raabe: Fließende Klänge, manchmal gespenstisch, knisternde and bewegte Bässe, kollabierende Schlagzeug Samples, weiche Synthesizer im Wechselspiel mit digitalen Stimmen - und immer wieder: Pausen, Stille, warten, Luft holen.

resa arrange by means of drum machine, arpeggios, organs, layered voices and various loops beautiful, soft electronic pop.
Giovanni Raabe: Flowing sounds, sometimes ghostly, crackling and moving basses, collapsing drum samples, soft synthesizers alternating with digital voices - and again and again: pauses, silence, waiting, taking a breath.

Nygel Panasco
Nygel Panasco wurde von Mireille Nyangono Ebene (1995, Kamerun) erschaffen.
Nygel ist eine Figur, ein Werkzeug, ein Zeitreisender, aber auch ein irdischer Dämon, der mit dem Betrachter spielt. Mireille schreibt, komponiert und produziert alle Lieder und Nygel singt sie. Ihr Katalog besteht aus Liebesliedern, wütenden Liedern, Empowerment-Songs. Es werden verschiedene Genres erkundet: R&B, Rap und vieles dazwischen und Mischformen.
Auf der Bühne trägt Nygel Panasco Hörner auf dem Kopf und ein Geheimnis um seinen Körper. Nygel ist Rauch, Nygel ist Wasser. Nygel sickert in deine Ohren und an deine intimen Stellen. So wie Mireille und Nygel es sind, so wie man Plural sein kann, wenn man auf einem Kontinent geboren ist und auf einem anderen lebt.
Nygel Panasco was born to Mireille Nyangono Ebene (1995, Cameroon).
Nygel is a character, a tool, a time traveler, but also a terrestrial demon devoted to play and toy with the viewer. Mireille writes, composes, produces all the songs and Nygel performs them. Their catalogue is made of love songs, outraged songs, empowerment songs. Several genres are explored : R&B, rap, and many things in-between and hybridations. It's hard to pin point what it is, because it is plural.
Nygel Panasco goes on stage wearing horns on its head and mystery around its body. Nygel is smoke, Nygel is water. Nygel leaks into your ears and onto your intimate places. The same way Mireille and Nygel are, the same way one can be plural being born in one continent and living in another.

Der magische Moment
In diesem Papercut Workshop arbeiten wir in gefaltetes Papier und erkunden den besonderen Reiz der Symmetrie.
Das fertig geschnittene Motiv entfaltet seine volle Wirkung und Kraft erst nach dem Öffnen. Wenn die spiegelsymmetrischen Figuren in der Mitte zusammen oder aufeinander treffen werden sie zu einem Bild und sorgen für so manche Überraschung.
Dabei ist es egal, welchem Objekt oder Inhalt wir uns widmen, die einfachsten Figuren und Formen eigenen sich dabei ebenso wie komplizierte Motive: Im geschnittenen Bild ist ihnen allen eines immanent: Die Reduktion durch Abstraktion.
Material ist vorhanden, Vorkenntnisse braucht es keine.
The magic moment
In this papercut workshop we work in folded paper and explore the special charm of symmetry.
The finished cut motif unfolds its full effect and power only after opening. When the mirror-symmetrical figures meet in the middle together or on top of each other they become a picture and provide many a surprise.
It doesn't matter which object or content we devote ourselves to, the simplest figures and forms are just as suitable as complicated motifs: in the cut image, one thing is immanent in all of them: reduction through abstraction.
Material is available, no prior knowledge required.

A bunch of friends, the “Haters", are living together and organising themselves to lead terrorists attacks against cis men. This saga contains four episodes, Not All Cops, Domination, Good Allies and the last one still in progress : Féminazi.

Der Frischkäse ist im 1. Stock
Jul Gordon liest aus dem kürzlich erschienen Band "Der Frischkäse ist im 1. Stock" mit Musik und Geräuschen von Luka Lenzin.
Gut eineinhalb Jahre lang hat Jul Gordon ihre Träume aufgezeichnet — möglichst unmittelbar nach dem Aufwachen.
«Es gibt nur einen angezeigten Ort für den Frischkäse, Treppe hoch, an der Literaturkritik vorbei in den Escortbereich, erster Stock. Jul Gordons neuster Band schafft erzählerische Kontexte fernab jeglichen hermeneutischen Zugriffs, aber von glasklarer Traumlogik. Hier zeltet das Krokodil in Pantoffeldistanz zu Ingeborg Bachmann, Plagiatsoldaten torpedieren ein GNTM-Shooting und ein und dieselbe Körperhaltung wird in sinnstiftender Weise in den verschiedensten Lebenssituationen eingesetzt.
Bewusstseinsebenen interferieren mit den räumlichen Bildern, existenzielle Bedrohung wird von Schabernack sekundiert, und selbst ausweglose Verhältnisse sind mit Menschlichkeit ausstaffiert.
